Statistics

Today we were learning how to sort objects into groups. We were all given different things to sort out and we had to count and show how many we found. We were being connected learners by working together and organising what we had found.

Here are some pictures of us hard at work.

  1. I do like the way that you are working together to sort! How did you record what you found? Is there a way that worked better? I love maths just as much as you and we need to use sorting and counting in many ways every day. Can you think of different ways in which we need these skills at home?

    1. Bula Mrs Whata,

We love your ideas. We think that we can sort our lego, our toys, our soft toys, and our socks at home.

When we sorted these objects in class we used tally marks to record and count how many we had.
Salwa thinks that we could have taken one colour out to make it a little bit easier. Itsu thinks we could count the objects separately and then team up with another group to see how many we have.

      Thank you for your comment.
Have a lovely day Mrs Whata.
